Calling all beauty connoisseurs, addicts and lovers, beauty subscriptions have been created to be your new BFF. Think about it; new products being sent to your door step, brands you know & don't know are mixed in, and best off all the box might be worth more than the subscription price.
Introducing BeautyBox 5, a monthly $12 treat that gives makeup enjoyers 4 to 5 pieces of cosmetic, haircare, or skincare items monthly. I was sent the current box for review, so let's take a peek!
The July Box {or June Box I forget} Contains 5 beauty products this month. I would like to mention that BB5 does not give you a pamphlet or card that introduces the products, which is a pro and con within itself: The good - most people only ready once and toss it & The bad - you have no idea what the products are or where they came from.
Products:
Bodyography Foundation Primer {Sample}
City Lips Advance Lip Gloss {Sample}
MODEL CO. Illusion Lip Enhancement Kit {full sized} $20
Jean Pierre Oil Absorbing Tissues {full sized} $1.99
Silk Natural "Breathe" Eye Color Pigment {full sized} $4.50
First Impressions/Mini Review:
1. Bodyography Foundation Primer - Not something totally special, it feels just like my Mirabella face primer, except this one is a tad more oily.
*Additional information: After reading about the product, it seems promising.
The primer actually has ingredients that improve the skin over time. Interesting.
2. City Lips Advance Lip Gloss - The color is Los Angelips. Its very sheer, meant to be a "topper" over a lipstick or lip stain. The plumping effect is very very tingly, my lips looks a fuller than usual. It was nothing too drastic though.
*Additional information: This lip product came with a description card, it was
however the only one that did. This gloss has moisturizing properties to the
ingredients.
3. MODEL CO. Illusion Lip Enhancement Kit - Confused. It says "kit" but its just a sharpener attached to a lip pencil. Its a deep nude, very creamy texture, and easily blend-able.
4. Jean Pierre Oil Absorbing Tissues - I really like the packaging for these blotting sheets, however the sheets are nothing I haven't used before. The container is refillable, so after I used these up I can add more sheets from a different brand.
5. Silk Natural "Breathe" Eye Color - Its a pigment form. Very beautiful medium purple with flecks of blue glitter which is subtle. Its similar to one of my MAC pigments.
*Additional information: No animal testing or fillers.
Overall, I think this box was okay. It not as impressive as I thought, but it was not bad either. The price is great since I received 3 full sized items. Though the Model Co product was worth $20 it was still something I consider small, the rest of the items were pretty cheap until you look up the information on the items given. I hope the next box is more pleasing.
P.S. The Giveaway winner from last month is Mrs. Minx224 :)
Please email me your address & I will send you the masks, congrats!
